Wow, only a few hours then we'll have the winner of Turtle Race 2007. Billie has still 10 miles, Stephanie still 36 miles. At 3. Place is Saphira with 65 miles distance to the goal. It seems Drexelina and Sanday have decided to stay in Costa Rica, maybe they asking for residence.

Day 9

Billie's success continued today also. She is now 42 miles from finish. Stephanie is with 59 miles only a little behind her. The 10. day can bring the decision. Strained we wait for the winner.

Suprise. suprise. Day 8 was very successful for race turle Billie. She is on first position again and only 79 mile to home. On second position is Stephanie, but only with 2 miles difference. Here is the complete result of day 8:

Day 7

Stephanie Colburtle is further in the first place. Still 108 miles to the victory. Billie changed her course and is in second position, 30 miles behind Stehanie. Drexelina and Sunday cannot decide to leave Costa Rica.

Day 6

Day 6. A lot has changed. Billie is still going west, and Stephanie is on first position now. She is swimming straight to Galapogos Islands. 145 miles are missing to win. Billie is still on second place, but could lose this position, if she does not deliberate herself and makes a correction of course.

Day 5

Billie came today 33 miles their goal more near. Still it is in guidance, however she changed the direction in the afternoon to west and loose precious time . Stephanie Colburtle separated from the main field and is now with 3 miles behind Billie on second position. She is on direct way and only 198 miles are missing. Windy now is with her friends in the main group. But what happen to Sundae and Drexelina? Drexelina cannot decide to leave the beach, Sundae is, like it seems, on the footpath to Nicaragua.

When at the beginning of the day Billie and Windy had near the same position, Windy swims back to her friends in the main group. Billie is now far in front, 228 miles are still missing to the victory.

Turtle Race 2007 Costa Rica

On Monday 16th startet the great turle race 2007 from Playa Grande , Guanacaste Costa Rica to the home area of the turles around the Galapagos islands. The turtle have a transmitter and you can foloow their way home via satellite. The actual position you can find on page http://www.greatturtlerace.com/ . Billie is in front now.
